The 1988 CFL Draft saw the Grey Cup champion Edmonton Eskimos have the last pick of the first round, while the Ottawa Rough Riders, who had a record of 3–15, had the first overall selection. Interestingly, there was no CFL franchise in Montreal at this time as the reincarnation of the present-day Montreal Alouettes, the Baltimore Stallions had not yet been created.
